If I could stitch you up
Pin together the frayed edges of worn muscle and sinew you once called a heart
Grip it tight within my fist and force it to beat again
Would it make a difference?
Would the roses in you veins blossom again
Subject to the warmth of circulation revived and recycled till it resembles something close to real
Would there still be beauty in this falsehood of mine?
This remaking of thunderclap spark of life that shot through all the circuits of your body till it matched the fever pitch beat of your patchwork heart in the effort to make you live again
Would it change you?
Throbbing to the rhythm of your once shattered insides would you echo any differently?
Would you resonate in a newer tone than you once had?
Back when you were whole and polished to reflective perfection and filled with the thrumming of oiled gear, switch, and cog maintained in deft harmony by once loving hands
And how I once wished that I could be those hands that kept you wound and ticking
Wanted to be the one that would hold up that clockwork heart of yours and readjust tempo and rhythm on a whim
Wanted to be the one that knew you, every piece and part so I could put you back together when you broke
But I wasn't
I wasn't and it's making things difficult for me
Because when he took apart that heart of yours, letting beautyrust and love drain out of it so he could learn the workings of a new one, he didn't leave behind the blueprints to yours
So now I'm left stumbling through all the broken pieces of your insides, putting parts together like puzzle pieces I just can't make sense of and I know that I can never fix you back to perfect cause some things went missing when you broke
But I'll be damned before I stop trying
I'll place you together bit by bit until you beat again, using pieces of my own heart to fill in the gaps in yours
And in the end we'll both have a little less heart but it'll be worth it to see you ticking
And maybe someday I'll be the one to control your rhythm and your tempo and know your every gear, switch, and cog
And I'll know you heartbeat like I know my own because I spent a lifetime patching up that worn organ
And I don't intend to let it go

The way I see it, you have three choices. You can sink, you can swim, or you can develop a set of gills. Personally, I'd be most impressed by that last one.
I'm going to kill you so hard you will die to death.
